White-wing dove hunting season is upon us, Texas! A Special Season has opened for 27 counties in Texas for two extra weekends:  September 5-6, 2015 and again on September 12-13, 2015.

Dove hunting in  Texas is divided into three separate zones: North, Central and South. See the dates for each zone below as they are different for the various parts of Texas.

Some Helpful Reminders for Hunting White-winged Dove this Season:

  • Don’t hunt from a vehicle or from the back of a pickup truck. Per regulations it states: “It is unlawful to hunt from or by means of motor-driven vehicles and land conveyances or aircraft of any kind.”
  • Be sure and hunt within the hours designated. Game wardens will be out!
  • Know what your daily bag limits are!
